Earning a PHD

Earning a PHD

By Daring Diane

As she sat in the headmaster’s office, Christina was relieved.  Christina was completing her PHD in education.  As part of her research, she proposed to observe a 6th grade class for a minimum of 8 weeks.  The headmaster told her the proposal was fine as long as Christina was not a disruption and as long as she worked within the rules of the school.

Headmaster Sarah Winters ran the Applegate Academy for Young Women with an iron fist.

Christina was told that all students, teachers and administrators had to read and understand all of the school rules, methodology and disciplinary procedures.  Christina read and signed the documents.

She would be initially observing a 6th grade class.  Christina signed a form agreeing to follow the schedule for the 6th grade students and classes she would be observing.  Depending on what Christina learned, her proposal included an option to work with one of the other grades as her research progressed.

Halloween-School Uniform

“Hello,” There was a pause as the person listened to the caller.

“Yes, this is Carol Parker.”  Another pause followed.

“Yes, It will take me a while.  But, I’ll be there soon.  Thank you.”

Carol took a deep breath and walked over to her supervisor.

“Louise, I just got a call from Mary Carol’s school.  Something happened and she is in the office.  I need to go over there.  Hopefully, I can get back here pretty fast.”

Louise had an understanding look on her face.  “Of course.  These things happen.  If you can’t get back I understand.  I hope everything is alright.”  Louise then got a mischievous look on her face and added, “At least, you’re dressed for school.  Have fun.  It’s Halloween.  Don’t bother coming back.  I’ll see you tomorrow.”

The Endorsement

The Endorsement
By Daring Diane

Shana Marikova had been one of the darlings of the international tennis scene for a couple of years now.  She was cute and had that young look that made her a fantasy for all the fans out there.  As with several other young stars in recent years, she seemed to be more successful with her public relations than with her career.  Though she had some surprise wins over major stars, she just did not seem to be able to actually win a major tournament.  She was breaking even as a player, but she was making money by sponsoring products.   She kept pushing her agent to find a deal that would make her rich.  She along with many on the tour recognized that the long term money was in endorsement deals.

The sponsoring company would have you wear their logo or the company name on the player's hat, shirt, skirt, pants, shoes, bag, or whatever else they could get a name printed on.  Some clothing companies wanted you to wear their clothes even when not playing.  Product companies wanted you to use their products and be in commercials.

The Fixers - Slutwear

The Fixers - Slutwear
By Daring Diane

A young looking girl slammed into the restroom.  She was wearing a tissue thin camisole top with no bra and a micro mini-skirt along with 2 inch heeled sandals decorated with little fake jewels.  Her top stopped mid-belly and she had on way to much make-up.  Her hair was held back in a bandana kerchief.

Chris Kelly was a mother of five with her youngest in high school.  Chris had a bad morning and she and her friends had gone to the mall to blow off some steam.  They were just finishing up in the restroom before the arrival of the young lady in their midst.

The new arrival dashed over to the sink and elbowed her way in front of Chris.  As she turned on the water, she mumbled, "Hey, try not to hog the sink. I need to wash my face."

Chris was taken aback by the rude behavior and responded firmly, "Excuse me little girl, but why don't you wait your turn?  Or at least have the manners to ask before barging in front of us."

Chapter 1

Rebecca stood staring at the empty luggage carousel.  She knew friends that had lost their luggage, but it had never happened to her, until now.  She looked around and asked a clerk what she should do.  She was directed to the lost luggage reporting desk across from the carousels.  She pondered all of the business trips where she might have lost her luggage.  But no, here she was taking a few days off to be in her friend's wedding and now she had none of her personal items or her clothes.  Thank God her bridesmaid dress was here in town.  But, what was she going to wear for the rest of the week.  She needed to go shopping.  This was not a complication that she or June (the bride) needed in the midst of a wedding.
Rebecca was completing the paperwork for her lost luggage report when she hard, “There you are, I've been looking all over for you.  What's holding us up Rebecca?”
“Oh Molly, thank god for a friendly face.  The airline has lost my luggage.” Rebecca was exasperated. “I'm sorry for the delay.  It's nice to see you.”  Rebecca approached Molly, June’s older sister, and stretched up to give her a hug.  Molly bent down and they exchanged a friendly hug.

HALLOWEEN - THE DOCTOR

HALLOWEEN-THE DOCTOR

Chapter 1.

Melissa Cramer was walking down the hall in her candy striper uniform.  She was looking for Dr. Michelle Carter.  Melissa was a high school junior. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic school for young women where she had been since starting in the sixth grade.  Besides being on the volleyball team and a member in many clubs, Melissa volunteered at the local hospital a couple of afternoons every week.
Dr. Carter, or Shelly to her friends, was Melissa’s idol.  She was a young good looking female doctor.  Melissa wanted to be just like her.  Shelly had warmed to Melissa when they met a few months ago.  They shared coffee and Shelly offered advice on what Melissa needed to do if she wanted to go to medical school.  Dr. Carter was a good person and she got a lot of satisfaction from trying to help another woman get ahead in the medical profession.

Aunt Christina - 1 - Dating

Aunt Christina – 1-Dating

Christina Meyer arrived at her late brother Carl's home on Saturday morning at about 9:30 AM.  Christina looked up as her sister-in-law Jean answered the door following Christina's light rapping on the door.  Since Jean was five foot nine and Christina less than five feet, she had to look up to face Jean.  Christina in her shoes and with her hair appeared to be a little less than five feet tall, but in actuality was closer to four and a half feet tall.
“Good morning Christina!”  Jean was wearing a nice cotton shirt and casual flowery skirt.
“Good morning Jean.  I see you are dressed and ready for a day at the spa?”
“Yes!  I've been looking forward to this all week.  I appreciate your paying for this, even if I did win our bet.  The lady I spoke to said it will take about 5 hours for the full treatment and my new hairdo.”
“No problem.  You deserve it.  I know things have been tight since Carl's death.”

The Chaperone

The Chaperone
By Daring Diane
"Excuse me, young lady," a voice boomed down the hall.
I looked around and saw someone's matronly mother looking towards me.
"Who? Me?"
"Yes! You." She was walking down the hotel hall towards me.  I was between her room and the next set of doors heading for the ice machine.  "What is your name?"
"Well miss busybody, my name is Suzanne Treemont, as if that is any business of yours.  And, what is your name, like I care." My attitude was probably a little obnoxious, but hey, who did she think she was?
"I am Mrs. Martin, Suzy.  Are you Maureen Treemont's little sister?"
I hated the nickname Suzy.  "Yes Maureen is my older sister. Do you know her?"  I wasn't sure why we were having this conversation.
"Yes, I know her.  Look, I'm the head chaperone for the scouts on this trip.  Can you please step into my room for a minute so we can discuss a few things?"
