This is the second book in the Lee Corcoran Series.

story is a romantic coming of age story with a cross-dressing theme.
It is different than the stories I post on this site. This was a large
effort which developed over the last year. There are a minimum of four stories in the series and the first
three are already completed.

You may find this comic idea a little similar to "Earning a PHD". Remember, it is a comic, so it will be short and not everything has an explanation. But the artwork is cool and make the story livelier. I hope you'll enjoy it.

I feel like Dreamtales only had about one good AR story in him (Beach Blanket Beauties) and all the art and comics after that were just a rehash of that. I know that in stories in this genre (especially stories without magic/mad science like Diane's), there are only so many ways that mistaken identity or age swap can be shown. But the same things keep reoccuring in DT's stories: sisters, both girls trying to impress a guy, even though one is clearly less developed, not recognizing each other after the transformation, lifeguards, medical shots, totally passive and wooden supporting characters. And the characters are always the same, whether Betsy and Lauren or Suzy and Marilyn. Comics like Something in the Water and Mating Wars are slightly different, but not all that engaging.
ReplyDeleteCheck out a real master like Oneshot20XX. He's written two novel length AR/TG stories, The Sidereus Prophecy and Designer Children, and Designer Children is simultaneously the best AR and best TG story I've ever read. Great, proactive characters with a wide supporting cast, and a great exploration of how physical regression could have effects.
Glad you mentioned Oneshot20XX's stories because I edited the first (Sidereus Prophecy) and had a lot to do with the second (I bailed before the end). Both are extremely well written and needed very little input from me anyway.
DeleteNot sure which I prefer but both are well worth the time spent reading. Designer Children was supposed to be short but failed miserably in the endeavour :)
And a good thing it failed too . Oneshot20xx avoids the indulgent moments of the genre like spanking and wetting for a subtler kind of humiliation. Sometimes, I wish he didn't.

I am working on the next release of Car Seat. I have been working on personal items and obviously editing the release of the Cheerleader series. The editing takes an extraordinary amount of time. I will try to give a timeframe on the next car seat later this week. At this moment it is no where near enough and is not ready.

ReplyDeleteIs it hard to wait for another installment? Of course, since this is such a great story. But what makes this so enticing is the care, the craft you put in to it. These aren't just stories -- they're Daring Diane stories, a very high standard. I, for one, would love to see another chapter, but I also wouldn't want to see one that you weren't happy with.
I'm not a writer. It's difficult for me to fully convey how thankful I am for the stories you provide. I hope you can tell that your efforts are appreciated, that your work is admired, and that we all owe you tremendously for your dedication, your labor and your immense skill. You are a treasure.

ReplyDeleteI am trying to complete the car seat next segment. The editing of the cheerleader books took more time than I thought it would. The fifth book which completes high school will be published in days. At that point I will be taking a break from the cheerleader series.
I have had issues taking the Car Seat story where I want to go. Therefore I have had to rework several sections multiple times. I just don't feel like it is at the right point yet.
I appreciate that people want more. I just feel uncomfortable putting something out which is not up to the standards I demanded for the earlier sections.
As a typical fan, I'd sure love to read more from you. But it is the quality that made you special, not the quantity. So stick to your Heart.

Like many eagarly awaiting next part of Car Seat,but suspect it may be a while,I can't blame Diane if she is focussing on her paid kindle work.She has another new book on there,its good not my taste but well written none the less

ReplyDeleteEven finish Car Seat and put whole thing on amazon,I realize that age regression is smaller market than the TG one,but the Tg market has lots of good authors,but age regression is nearly all short stories,writers just using same formula for all their stories. If Diane did put a good well written longer length story such as Car seat,I am sure it would do well.
